Capacity-Building for Midwives in Latin America

Policy Development (PD) has taken on a new client — a small organization based in Guatemala and New York called Midwives for Midwives (www.midwivesformidwives.org). MFM preserves traditional midwifery practices, and augments these practices with modern medicine where appropriate. Their approach is culturally sensitive and extremely practical given Latin America's unmet health care needs. We are helping them build their capacity to train more midwives and also to pursue systemic changes.
