ABOUT POLICY DEVELOPMENT
Line
Overview

Background
Policy Development began as a group of Princeton University (Woodrow Wilson School) graduate students and faculty motivated to distribute the benefits of our training and networks more broadly. We deferred careers in large public and private sector institutions in order to support domestic and international community-based organizations that deliver services directly to those in need.

The Concept
Policy Development began building bridges between policy and practice. We found that when these two sectors interact, the benefits are mutual: the first-hand experience of direct service organizations becomes input for high-level policy debate, while greater policy awareness becomes an input for better direct service program planning.

The Reality
Today, Policy Development's client and funder portfolio includes the World Bank, United Nations Association, Rockefeller Brothers Fund* , John Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies, Phipps Community Development Corporation, Princeton Social Capital, Spanish American Union, North End Outreach Network, Academy for Breastfeeding Medicine, and many others. Our partners cite tangible analytic and organizational development results.

Expertise
Policy Development is driven by a group of next generation nonprofit professionals committed to social change. We combine our experience in the policy and research community with our work as practitioners to help build high-performing, sustainable partner organizations. We bring expertise in social policy analysis, program planning, monitoring and evaluation, institutional assessment and capacity-building, grants administration, and strategic planning.
